Basic Training
1. Complete and submit your volunteer application form.
2. Class Garden Coordinator Job Description
3. Read the Volunteer Manual.
4. Use this checklist to communicate with your teacher about getting started.
5. Read the following: 
How to dress for the garden - Why wear the Granny apron and other things you need to know.
Garden Etiquette - Dos and Don'ts and safety rules
Keeping Order - Simple techniques for keeping the kids focused
Tips from other Coordinators - Learn from the ones who have come before you.
Mulch and compost - What are they?  How do we use them.  What are the proper procedures. 
Tools  - Available tools, where they are and how to use them 
7. Use this checklist for your preparing to take your class out to the gardens.
8. Time sheet and e-mail report. Let us know how it went
9. For advance planning refer to the schedule to see what is coming up for your grade level.  You'll receive weekly emails about what is coming up and what is happening in the gardens.  The current newsletter is found on the "Coordinator" link.  Lesson plans for scheduled activities are found on the "Activities/Lessons" link.  
10. Attend training whenever possible. You will be notified of training opportunities through the garden newsletter.
