Growing Information |
|
All of the growing
information is for zone 6. Planting time is when the seeds
can be planted outside in the garden. |
|
|
| We
receive donations of seeds in individual packets as well as bulk packages.
We combined all of the packets of onion seeds, for example,
mixed them up and repackaged them for this project. This
means you will receive a number of varieties of onion seeds in
you packet. The packet will be labeled, "Onions". We
list the different varieties in the growing information section.
We have not tried to tell you everything there is to know about
every variety. With the variety names, it is easy to
research using the internet. |
|
You will receive way more than enough seeds to plant
a 3' x 10' garden. However, if you plan to have enough of
a vegetable i.e. green beans for canning, you will need more
seeds and more space. Our goal is to provide you with a
variety of seeds. All of the flower seeds and most of the
vegetable seeds |

|
|
are surplus seeds that have been donated by various
seed companies for use in the Granny's Garden School program. We
are not selling the seeds, plants, compost or workshops. They are
provided free when you register for the program. The registration
fee pays for staff time to secure the donations, prepare the
kits and administer the program. |
