Keeping kids

in touch with nature

Granny’s Garden School uses the school grounds to create sustainable school gardens and habitats that help kids discover the nature in

their own back yards, experience the satisfaction of growing and preparing their own food and the simple pleasure of picking a flower.

Meet some of our great volunteers

Steve Chung first came to the gardens as a community service volunteer when he was a student in the Landscape Horticulture degree program at Cincinnati State.  He liked working in our garden so much that he continued volunteering past his required hours.

"Though I work in landscaping all week long, I like coming here on the weekend because I can work at my own pace on projects I choose." Steve Chung

We commend the Loveland school board, superintendent and principals for creating an environment where an organization such as ours could evolve. Their willingness to expand educational opportunities outside of the four walls of the traditional classroom make it possible to offer a unique learning opportunity to our students.
